SpineMeasure
Spine measurement system.
Motion and Force Engineering Solutions (MFES) is a spin-off of the Mechanical Engineering Laboratory of the University of La Coruña, which aims to bring to the public the results of the Laboratory's research on the biomechanics of human movement.
These results take the form of developing products, providing services and carrying out projects, along the following lines:
Products are developed for the sensorization of the posture or movement of the human body, or for the sensorization of elements that interact with people in medical or sport applications. Examples:
Spine measurement system.
Exercise monitoring system.
Use of small, non-invasive, and low-cost sensors, combined with computational models of the human body.
Applicability in numerous areas of Health and Sport Sciences.
The SpineMeasure system has been patented to ensure its exclusivity.
Services are provided that require the capture and analysis of human movement in general or of human gait in particular. Gait may be conventional or with assistive devices (crutches, canes, walkers, orthoses, exoskeletons). Capture and analysis can be performed in real time if needed, for example, when providing biofeedback to the user or supervisor. Services are also provided that require the capture and analysis of animal movement. Examples:
Gait analysis laboratory.
Motion capture with biofeedback.
Gait analysis laboratory for animals.
Our services are tailored. We adapt to your needs and resources.
Our team is made up of researchers with extensive experience in capturing and analyzing human movement.
Our technological resources allow us to capture movement both in our laboratory and outside of it, thanks to a portable system.
Projects are carried out that require skeletal, musculo-skeletal, or neuro-musculo-skeletal modeling of the human body, as well as the analysis and/or simulation of human movement, and/or its sensorization. Movement can be free or assisted (crutches, canes, walkers, orthoses, exoskeletons). Examples:
Neuro-musculo-skeletal models of the human body, analysis and simulation of human movement.
Simulation of the head-neck system response to ballistic impacts.
Simulation of the movement and pressure of the patella in total knee arthroplasty.
Biomechanical sensorization.
Design and evaluation of exoskeletons.
